Kicking off the 2021 Run in Texas 6-pack Beer Challenge with the Middleton Brewing 5K Beer Run! 🍺🏃🏻‍♀️💕

The Middleton Brewing Company in San Marcos, Texas was a great venue for this race! We enjoyed it the night before (for packet pickup) with dinner from their MBTX Burger Shop and a couple of flights of beer! 🍔🍺😋 Yumm!

Shannon and I arrived bright and early, twinning in our beer socks! 😉

As with most live races lately, everyone was practicing social distancing. Masks were worn when when not running (or drinking beer.) After the National Anthem, runners were sent through the start line grouped by pace.

We got a quick start line selfie before the race 🤳🏻

Off we went… uphill! 😳

This was my first time running this course and I wasn’t expecting the 2 mile climb (mostly uphill) but then the last mile was all downhill and I was able to pick up the pace and make up some time! Thank you gravity! 🙏🏻

We took a short detour by Roughhouse Brewing which was about a mile up the road! 😎

The final stretch was highway but there was plenty of shoulder to run safely back to the brewery!

Shannon was making her mad dash to the finish 🏁 and making it look easy! Way to go Girl! 😍

We did it!!! 🤩 Now to reward ourselves with some cold, refreshing BEER in our Middleton Brewing Company Finisher pint glasses! 🍻

By the time we went back for another beer the line was so long that these guys had actually pulled up their lawn chairs to relax while waiting! 😎 #genius

There was an awesome food truck there for delicious post race snacks!!! 🤤 After the race awards, Run in Texas gave out prizes and both Shannon and I walked away with these cool Middleton Brewing 5K Beer Run bottle openers. 🎁

Before leaving, we walked over to check out the Silo Gallery right across from the Brewery. It was artsy and colorful with a Koi pond and waterfall! I’m so glad we checked it out! 😍

What a great race! ❤️ We loved the Brewery and the race course! Looking forward to the next race in the Run in Texas 6-pack series… the 5 Stones Artisan Brewery 5K Beer Run in New Braunfels, TX! 😎🍺🏃🏻‍♀️
