Jackalope Run

The For the Love of Go Jackalope Run 5K was A FREE (Chip-timed) Run/Walk! 🤩 This race also took place on the same day as the “Gathering of the Kyle’s” in Kyle, Texas.

Before I get into the “Gathering of the Kyle’s” let me cover this FREE race. 😉 So it starts and finishes at Lehman High School in Kyle.

Eric took our start line selfie 🤳 just before the start of the race.

Off we went from the front of the school, through the parking lot and onto Lehman rd.

This flat, out-and-back course took us into a nice residential area with smooth, wide roads. After the turnaround on Steeplechase Blvd, we made our way back towards the high school.

Our friend Andy was on the course giving out the biggest (greenest) high-fives for motivation! 💚

The second longest stretch of the course was Lehman road, just past a wide open field, leading back to the school parking lot just before the finish line. 🏁

And just like that, the race was over. It was FAST, FLAT, FUN and FREE! 🤩

As always, we hit up the FTLOG Refueling Station for some cold water and fresh fruit. There’s always a great selection of snacks to choose from, like pretzels and granola bars… they even had cake! 😋

As always, there were friends at the finish line, including FTLOG race director Jennifer, working hard with her Wonderful Team to make it all happen! 💚

Eric and I found some local Eagles and we took a Team RWB group photo. 🇺🇸

There were some special and unique award categories as well as fun giveaways and so many friends took to the podium. Even Jennifer’s former Coach! Coach Scott and her husband (both in their 70’s) also placed! 🏆

…and if that wasn’t motivating enough, this gentleman took to the podium placing 1st in the 80-89 age group! 🥇

Now let me tell you about Kyle. This is Kyle and yes, he ran in jeans. He traveled from Ohio to participate in the “Gathering of the Kyle’s” at the Kyle Fair at Lake Kyle Park where they try to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest same-name gathering. There were 10 other Kyle’s that participated in the race, coming as far as Utah, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Bristol! 🌎 There was even an award category for the “Fastest Kyle!” The winner was from Kyle, Texas.

I placed 2nd in my age group and earned this awesome medal. But most importantly, I had so much fun running with For the Love of Go and repping Team RWB. 💚

Thank you for coming!! I love reading your reports so I can see how it was out on the course! Look at everyone following directions to stay on the RIGHT 🙂 I am so proud! Congratulations on placing! My son Jacob did all of the artwork for this one – it was fun to see his design as a custom cut medal and a patch :).

    1. Jacob did awesome! And so did Todd (running the race.) 🥰 Y’all are so awesome! I hope you get even more Kyle’s next year. I think that was such a fun thing too! 😎 And thanks again, for another great race! We especially loved that it was FREE… in case I hadn’t mentioned it. 😉 When you run 2-3 races almost every weekend, Free, really helps!
