Week 5 of The Un-Canceled Project 2!

My first bib of the week was for the 8K. I set out for a 5 miler and got it done. 😎

Next bib was the 5K! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Oh, and my running shoes were all pretty badly worn and had been since well before the COVID-19 lockdown. So there went another 3 months (and 300 miles) on the same worn shoes… IT WAS TIME! πŸ™‚ So I made an appointment and went on a MUCH NEEDED shoe shopping spree! πŸ›πŸ‘Ÿ Shoes, socks, inserts… a total overhaul for my tired feet.

And what’s more motivating than new shoes? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Absolutely ☝🏻

I laced up my new running shoes and tossed my medal in the car… I’d been saving it for a good long run. πŸ… I wanted it to be a half marathon but I underestimated the heat and only completed 10 miles. πŸ₯΅ I had to listen to my body. At least I still earned the 15K bib. πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

I decided to run at a nearby park since running all around my neighborhood for 3 straight months now has gotten pretty boring, especially for the longer distances. There were lots of cyclists out! πŸš΄πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Not as many people on foot tho. It was a very hot day. β˜€οΈ

There was so much to see! I even found a pacer! 🐒

But I got it done! The new shoes felt great! And so did the ice cold Gatorade I had waiting in the car! πŸ˜‹ I had actually run back to the car at one point for hydration because I forgot my Camelpak. 😬 Gotta stay hydrated!! πŸ’¦ and I LOVE the Un-Canceled Project medal!!! πŸ…It has the 12 weekly themes from the two 6-week Challenges printed on it. πŸ’–

I finished my week with a 10K recovery run the day after my long run. I took it easy, kept it in the hood and timed it at sunset so the weather was nice! 😍 …and the sunset was beautiful. πŸŒ…

From the pink and purple clouds against a clear blue sky to the bright yellow sun setting against an orange background. πŸŒ… What a sight to see while running. πŸ’›

So I earned 4 virtual bibs and ran 25 miles for the week. One week to go for this amazing project! Running is not canceled. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’•
