Our second year running this Fun and Patriotic For the Love of Go, 4th of July Popsicle Run, 4-mile race! π This was our very first LIVE, IN-PERSON RACE last year after the pandemic lockdown. π· It was very well organized, especially considering all that was going on at the time, so we decided to participate again this year. It takes place in Kyle, Texas, in the beautiful Plum Creek area.

This was also the morning after my having to forfeit a 10K trail race due to a strained calf. So I was still in a lot of pain but knowing that this all road course was nice and flat, I figured I could hobble for 4 miles and complete another race for my birthday weekend. π¬

My friend Ralph here ran all four July 4th weekend races! π Thursday-Sunday! 2 night races, 2 (challenging) trail races and he finished up with this 4-miler on the 4th, his 4th race in 4 days! π

Off we went, starting at Negley Elementary School and running through the beautiful Plum Creek neighborhood. ππ»ββοΈππ»ππ»ββοΈ

We brought the whole family out! Even my Big bro ran the 3K with my monkey and we crossed paths on separate courses. It was great to see them out there running together. π

One of my FAVORITE things about running through Plum Creek is the adorable, colorful houses! π

The streets are lined with trees which just adds to the charm of the neighborhood. π³ This also provides plenty of shade. π

Thereβs a beautifully landscaped golf course as well. β³οΈ

As I hobbled through the course I was able to snap some quick pics of some of my favorite (and fast) runner fam! πΈ

At the home stretch! Closing in on mile 4 and heading back to Negley Elementary for the Finish Line! π

Finishers!!! π (I was trying not to put much weight on my bad leg.)

Hadnβt seen my sweet friend Jill in a while so it was a pleasant surprise to see her at the finish!!! π

Iβm so thankful for being able to complete another Fabulous running event with family and friends for my birthday weekend! π₯³πΊπΈπ With an upcoming half marathon in 2 weeks, it looks Iβll be working on rest and recovery until then.
