The Huarache Turbo, Free-da’s Run 5K Run/Walk for the Arts night race was my second 5K race of the day.

After getting all cleaned up and rested from running the Winter in July 5K earlier that morning, I “got my Frida on” in preparation of one of the most festive running events in San Antonio. 😍

Mcallister Park was a new location for the race, it’s usually held a Ladybird Johnson Park. But it was still a great location and the course was even flatter! 😉

Ralph also ran the Winter in July race this morning and here we are again, 5K race #2 (of the day) for both of us. 😎

I really enjoy seeing my friend Carolyn at running events. Her costumes are always super fun and very creative and she’s won several costume contests!🏆

There were Frida’s EVERYWHERE! So many awesome representations of the beloved Mexican Artist. ❤️

Off we go and oh my gosh it was A HOT DAY!🥵

Thankfully there’s a lot of trees at Mcallister Park which provided plenty of shade throughout our out-and-back course. 🌳

Folklorico dancers at the finish line! 💃🏻🏁😍

It was so hot that my unibrow melted right off. ☀️ I was drenched in sweat but thankful to have completed 2 races on the same day while still recovering from a calf sprain. I even beat my time from the morning race! 😃

These were THE BEST Frida’s competing after the race! 😍 Each winner shared the inspiration for their costumes upon accepting their prizes. 💝

There were Beautiful Folklorico dance performances from this award winning dance group which made for a one-of-a-kind post race experience! 💃🏻🎶❤️

Beautiful professional race photos are a bonus for any race! 📸 So thankful for the photographers! 😍

Pandemic Frida Bling 🏅I LOVE it! 😍

Four years of Frida! 🌹🌹🌹 Such a wonderful event! Can’t wait to run it again in 2022. 🗓
